St. Michael Celebrates Its Graduates and Welcomes Speaker Bob Atwell

PETOSKEY – May 23, 2025 – St. Michael High School (SMHS), the only Classical high school in Northern Michigan, announced today that its Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation ceremony will be at Holy Childhood of Jesus (HCJ) Parish in Harbor Springs, Sunday, June 1, 2025, with Mass at 3:30pm and Commencement to follow in the parish hall at approximately 5:00pm.

SMHS is also very pleased to announce that Mr. Bob Atwell will be featured as its Commencement Speaker. Mr. Atwell is a co-founder of Nicolet Bankshares (NYSE: NIC), and a co-founder and Board member of Relevant Radio, a nationwide Catholic network of more than 140 radio stations, including local affiliate WTCK (90.9 FM) in Charlevoix. He is a graduate of Beloit College and the Yale School of Management. He and his wife Sally have 11 children and (so far) 13 grandchildren.

The SMHS Class of ’25 includes six graduates: Valedictorian Grace Broz and Salutatorian Gabrielle Cesario, along with Reghan Hoffman, Russell Vandermus, Charlotte Yanchulis, and Ava Zyble.

Grace Broz is the daughter of Tammy Broz of Harbor Springs and Marco Broz of Petoskey. Grace has distinguished herself not only with academic achievements, but also with leadership as Prefect of Augustine House and through her tireless efforts to lead the SMHS Pro-Life prayer group at the (now closed) local Planned Parenthood facility. She is also an accomplished soloist who cantors at school Masses. Grace plans to attend St. Thomas Aquinas College in Massachusetts or The Gregorian Pontifical Academy in Rome.

Gabrielle Cesario is the daughter of James & Laurie Cesario of Petoskey. In addition to her excellent academic record, Gabby also provided leadership as Prefect of Athanasius House and was a qualifier to the State Finals in both Golf and Tennis, representing St. Michael through ‘co-ops’ with Harbor Springs High School. Gabby plans to attend North Central Michigan College in Petoskey.

“Graduation is always a time of great anticipation, excitement, and joy for our graduates,” Headmaster Kevin Weed said. “We look forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of ’25 with family and friends!”
