PETOSKEY — St. Michael Academy came from behind to defend their championship in the “A” division at the first Char-Em Quiz Bowl Tournament of the year hosted by North Central Michigan College on Friday, Nov. 5.

Boyne City A and East Jordan A divisions led throughout the day until afternoon matches when St. Michael Academy beat East Jordan A, causing both teams to finish at 6-1 with the title going to St. Michael Academy on a head-to-head tiebreaker. Harbor Springs B, Boyne City B, and the Char-Em All Stars teams finished and tied for first place in the B Division, with the Char-Em All Stars emerging victorious in the afternoon playoffs. Other teams who did well during the day include Concord Boyne, Charlevoix, Ellsworth and Concord Petoskey.
