St. Michael High School Invites You to Its Christmas Choral Concert!

PETOSKEY – December 8, 2021 – St. Michael High School (SMHS), Northern Michigan’s only Classical Catholic high school, is pleased to announce its Christmas Choral Concert, Thursday, December 9, at the St. Michael schoolhouse. The event will begin with a reception at 6:30pm, followed by the concert at 7:00pm.

SMHS Director of Vocal Music Mrs. Marti Krusell stated, “Come join us and enjoy an evening of festive carols as we recount the Christmas story via scripture and song. Our eighth through tenth grade choirs will join as one in presenting traditional works from the fourteenth century to the present.”

“Our choirs have put forth a great effort in presenting a beautiful, meaningful concert in celebration of the coming of our savior, Jesus Christ! We will be joined throughout by accomplished violinist (and SMHS Director of Instrumental Music), Mr. Augustin Zehnder, and our audience will join us in the final portion of our concert!”

SMHS Headmaster Dr. Richard Brake added, “What a wonderful way to celebrate the Incarnation and Nativity as we anticipate the coming of our Lord. We’ve aspired to present a vocal and instrumental music program capable of such incandescent worship and now, led by Mrs. Krusell and Mr. Zehnder, we finally have it! Congratulations to all involved, and Christmastide blessings to the entire St. Michael community!”

SMHS is located at 2225 Summit Park Drive, near the intersection of Mitchell and Division streets, just east of Petoskey. The event is free and open to the public.

St. Michael High School has emerged from the Covid crisis stronger and more vital than ever as it fully joins the Chesterton Schools Network, the largest and fastest-growing network of its kind in the country. In light of the cultural turbulence of our times, SMHS welcomes all families who seek better education and faith formation for their teenagers and accepts transfers at any time during the academic year.

Established in 2013, the St. Michael mission is to nurture and elevate a new generation of joyful leaders educated in the Classical tradition and truth of the Catholic faith.
